About

I have been interested in photography for most of my life, taking charge of the family camera when I was young and taking hundreds of photos of my wife and kids when they became part of my life. I also used photography extensively in my academic career as a university professor of plant pathology.

I have now expanded my expertise into other areas of photography, including portrait, event, nature, and travel photography. I strive to create images that are somewhat unique, whether it be capturing an expression in a portrait that truly identifies the person, or using my knowledge of biology to look at interesting aspects of nature. I really love the process of figuring out how to get the images that I see in the world around me fully revealed in a photographic image.
